Sara has been an athlete since the seventh grade, playing basketball all the way into college.  She then went on to coach basketball one year before realizing her first love was fitness itself, and helping others reach their fitness visions became a passion.  She has now made health and fitness a lifestyle and a career.  She will share her passion for fitness with all who she instructs . 


She is a wife and mother of three and worked out through all her pregnancies! She worked for over nine years training women in a gym setting at The Train Station in Houston.  She opened her own business 2006, The Strong Woman, where she continued to train women in weight training and pilates.  Then in 2006 she also started Adventure Boot Camp in the Deer Park so she could impact a larger group of women's and men's lives at once.  She has continuing education in rehabilitation, pilates, TRX and aqua training. Her love for fitness and healthy living is evident in her teaching style that you will find motivating and inspiring.


Kendra Benge

Dow Park 6:30 pm Co-Ed Trainer since 2012

- Certified Personal Trainer through the American Council on Exercise (ACE). 
- Certified Fitness Nutrition Specialist through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM). 
- Continuing Education in women's fitness. 
- Former cheerleader for the University of Houston where she majored in English Literature with a minor in Kinesiology. 
- Currently also a Trainer and Nutrition Coach for The Train Station in Houston, TX. 

Kendra has been active since her feet touched a gymnastics mat. She enjoyed competitive cheerleading and tumbling growing up, as well as softball in her school-age days. She went on to cheer on full scholarship at San Jacinto College Main Campus (2008-2010) and a partial scholarship at the University of Houston (2010-2012). 

Working through college as a cheer-leading/dance competition judge and cheer-leading coach/instructor, she developed a love for fitness and movement which led her to pursue the education and certifications needed to become a personal trainer and nutrition coach in 2012. She began with training in a corporate gym as well as the evening boot camp instructor for Adventure Boot Camp in Dec. 2012. She has also worked for the all women's private training studio, The Train Station, since July 2013. Her knowledge of the human body and ambitious nature is reflected in her training style and workouts. She is constantly challenging and uplifting her clients to be a better version of themselves.


 Dr. John Spencer Ellis - Support Staff

Dr. John Spencer EllisAdventure Boot Camp was originally developed by Dr. John Spencer Ellis, who has been an innovator in the fitness industry for more than half his life.  He began his life of fitness at age 12, and has continually educated himself in the areas of fitness, sports conditioning, medical advancements, education and business.  John is a personal trainer, fitness consultant, trainer of personal trainers, media advisor, medical exercise specialist, mentor, life coach, and peak performance consultant.  Since the late 1990s, John has operated an Adventure Boot Camp in Orange County, CA and oversees the Spencer Escape fitness retreat center in Big Bear, CA.  After years of research, hundreds of hours of instruction, experimenting with various teaching methods, camp formats, and nutrition programs, the Adventure Boot Camp method emerged.  This is the method you will learn.
