Sara Jo Oliver - Master Trainer - Owner

Sara Oliver, Program DirectorSara Jo Oliver is a NESTA Certified Adventure Boot Camp Instructor, American College of Integrative Medicine Certified Personal Fitness Trainer, and Fitness Coach through Wellcoaches, an American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) endorsed program.  She holds a degree from the University of Houston in Exercise Science and a minor in Nutrition. 
 
Sara has been an athlete since the seventh grade, playing basketball all the way into college.  She then went on to coach basketball one year before realizing her first love was fitness itself, and helping others reach their fitness visions became a passion.  She has now made health and fitness a lifestyle and a career.  She will share her passion for fitness with all who she instructs . 

She is a wife and mother of three and worked out through all her pregnancies! She worked for over nine years training women in a gym setting at The Train Station in Houston.  She opened her own business 2006, The Strong Woman, where she continued to train women in weight training and pilates.  Then in 2006 she also started Adventure Boot Camp in the Bay Area so she could impact a larger group of women's and men's lives at once.  She has continuing education in rehabilitation, pilates, TRX and aqua training. Her love for fitness and healthy living is evident in her teaching style that you will find motivating and inspiring.


Kendra Benge

Dow Park 6:30 pm Co-Ed camp

Kendra Benge is a certified Personal Trainer through N.C.C.P.T. She is also a certified Fitness Nutrition Specialist through NASM. She is a former UH cheerleader where she majored in English Literature with a minor in Kinesiology. 

Kendra has been always been very athletic since a young age playing softball for eight years and cheering competitively from elementary school through college. The training aspect of the sports she played was something that Kendra enjoyed. This love for fitness grew as she discovered a career path through training and instructing. Beginning with a corporate gym to now a private studio, The Train Station in Houston, Kendra is accomplishing  her life goals through changing lives with fitness and nutrition training. She has been a witness to many lives and bodies transformed because of hard work and discipline. She uses all the motivational skills possible to inspire others! 

 Dr. John Spencer Ellis - Support Staff

Dr. John Spencer EllisAdventure Boot Camp was originally developed by Dr. John Spencer Ellis, who has been an innovator in the fitness industry for more than half his life.  He began his life of fitness at age 12, and has continually educated himself in the areas of fitness, sports conditioning, medical advancements, education and business.  John is a personal trainer, fitness consultant, trainer of personal trainers, media advisor, medical exercise specialist, mentor, life coach, and peak performance consultant.  Since the late 1990s, John has operated an Adventure Boot Camp in Orange County, CA and oversees the Spencer Escape fitness retreat center in Big Bear, CA.  After years of research, hundreds of hours of instruction, experimenting with various teaching methods, camp formats, and nutrition programs, the Adventure Boot Camp method emerged.  This is the method you will learn.
